Kanto Starter Pokemon Costumes Are Coming To Super Mario Maker

Three new costumes are now available in Super Mario Maker and they are none other than the Kanto Starter Pokemon. Bulbasaur, Charmander and Squirtle can be found in the Event Course. However, you will not be able to get them all in one attempt. You have to clear the course with each Pokemon. The costumes all come with custom sounds, the first Pokemon costumes in the game to do so.

Nintendo confirmed that the Event Course is now available to play. Feel free to check out the official trailer below.

    1. I hear ya! I’m honestly sick of the costumes. I don’t need a pigeon power up that can’t fly or a random Japanese guy or the cast of Animal Crossing, I need Chargin’ Chuck, the Hammer Suit, the ability to add water to my levels, the ability to start a level as regular Luigi (not a costume), the other Koopa Kids, a SMB2 layout and collectible coins or stars to scatter across my levels. Those are updates I want, heck, that I would gladly pay for.

      1. 100% agreed. Nintendo should spice up SMM mechanics as soon as possible. I’m tired of pointless costumes as well.

“Ah, costumes are fancy…”, “Hum, they are great in-game collectibles…”

I hate those kind of arguments.

For instance, what’s the reason of having Frog Mario only, and not its mechanics?

And let’s remember that SMM is full priced, that is, it’s 60 bucks + taxes. When you take SMM and Splatoon side by side comes to the conclusion that Nintendo has the moral obligation of releasing new, free content for it.

  1. Well I did not know that they are gonna do another update of super Mario maker but I haven’t play the game in 5 weeks because I wanted Nintendo to give us other courses that we need as a update.
