A Pokemon themed Splatfest will be taking place in Splatoon next week. The news comes straight from the official Splatoon Tumblr. The Splatfest will happen simultaneously around the world, however the rules of previous Splatfests will apply to your region only. You will be matched only with players in your region and the results will be tallied in each region.
There will also be a slight difference in the teams. In North America, the teams will be “Red Vs. Blue”. This is because Pokemon Red and Blue were the versions of the first Pokemon generation that was released in Europe and North America. In Japan, it was Pokemon Red and Green. It was not confirmed if Europe will get the same treatment.
The Splatfest begins on February 20th and ends on the 21st. If you live on the west coast of the United States, the dates are in the evenings of the 19th and 20th, respectively.
BREAKING NEWS! We’ve just learned that the next Splatfest is being presented by none other than… drumroll, please… Pokémon!
Head to the Inkopolis Plaza and select which game is your favorite: Pokémon Red or Pokémon Blue!
This Splatfest will begin on February 19 at 10:00 PM PT and will run until February 20 at 10:00 PM PT.
This Splatfest will also happen simultaneously around the world. Like any other Splatfest, however, players you get matched with will be from your region, and the results will also be tallied by each region.
By the way, did you know that in Japan the first Pokémon game was released in a “Red Version” and a “Green Version,” but in North America and Europe, the two versions were “Red Version” and “Blue Version.” So for this Splatfest, in North America, it will be “Red vs Blue.”

Good now all the bitch baby casuals can shut the fuck up.
I’m sure that the more popular side will loose, which is likely red because pkmn red/charzard’s has popularity over blastoise and blue version.
RED! Nostalgia meter on high.
Blue or GTFO
Pokemon Music theme?!
Pokemon Blue was my very first Game Boy game, guess that’s what I’m going with.
Blue vesion. For life.
I’m going as red.
First Pokémon game I played was Blue.
Blue because all the kiddies are probably choosing red :P
If I had a pokemon in real life I’d feel much safer carrying around a water type rather than a fire type. So I think I’m going to go with blue. See you guys on the splattlefield.

~*Red, obviously. Charizard all the way! Too bad they stopped doing DLC or they could release some Pokemon themed outfits for Splatoon.*~
Ehhhh, this is still a brand new series. I would prefer if they didn’t bring in cameos or references in the first game- it’s like by not doing that, you prove the series can stand on its own without help from the big guns, you know?
I might be the only person that makes sense to; well I tried.
~*Actually, you have a good point there & it makes sense. Save cameos for when the series has proven itself on it’s own merit first.*~
