Footage of the highly anticipated mobile game, Pokemon GO is making its rounds online. The video, which you can find below, is a supposed demonstration of the title shown at this years SXSW, which is going on now in Austin, Texas. There are some elements of the demo, such as the harsh graphic recalibration, that puts the legitimacy of the clip under scrutiny given the games Summer release plans. If real, developer Niantic will need to kick it into high-gear to bring this game to Nintendo quality before it launches.

I think one of the main reasons people should be excited about this is that smartphones have been powerful enough to show animated full 3D Pokémon in way better detail than the 3DS has been able to.
I mean don’t get me wrong the gyrometer AR stuff is super shaky in this video but the actual Ivysaur looks wonderful.
Can already see where micro-transactions are going just from that quick glimpse of the pokeball screen. $20 for a Master Ball, $10 for an Ultra Ball, $5 for a Great Ball, $1 for a Poke Ball.

Doubt it, Nintendo wouldn’t let that happen. I’m sure it’ll be a option to get those thing like that. But Ingress also has tons of weapons, and you can buy extra in that game. But it’s so ignorable that I only found that out by accident…
And because this is the same developer, combined with Nintendo… Yeah, I’m pretty confident this will be really playable without paying an arm and a leg.
I don’t know, it kinda looks like an enhanced version of the models used in the Stadium and Battle Revolution-type games. I like the cell-shaded designs more, but it does look really good!

I hope there will be a bit more to it then just throwing the balls at them… It doesn’t have to be much, because this will be something that keeps you moving. But at least some more interaction in certain places like Ingress.
And it doesn’t look to bad. Sire, the Pokémon moved around a bit. But I find it quite impressive that it’s already like that. It looks like quite a challenge to get something like that done that good without a real focussing point like the AR cards on the 3DS, that’s barley much better then this if you were to ask me… Wonder how it’ll do on cheap phones with cameras that are much worse…

My brain and skills are fucking amazing. Once I figure out the trickery, things become far easier than they same. It may take time but analyzing each pattern and enemy placement is a must to complete your levels.

I like Pokemon, but this game looks like shit. Not Nintendo quality at all, the camera is shaky, the pokemon slide across the ground. It looks like the background isn’t the real background which would completely break immersion for me. Game needs a lot of work IMO. There is more to it than just making the Pokemon look nice.

Considering this probably isn’t the finished product, I’m really impressed with the look of it, I like the map and the catching scene despite the shaky nature. I wasn’t expecting the camera environment at all which I’m sure will be perfected by release.
