Online gaming publication Polygon recent had the opportunity to speak to Elite Beat Agents director Keiichi Yano about the future of the franchise. It turns out that there’s a chance that the series could come back on Nintendo’s next platform the Nintendo NX.
‘I think, as with many of these types of games that have this following and at some point they come back, I think there will be a right time when it feels like [the series] should come back. A lot of times, the platform will dictate those kind of things.’
‘I’d certainly love to make another version of it, and hopefully it’s on the next platform’, he added cryptically.

never heard of the game :(
YES. PLEASE. :’)
OMG YESSSSS….. I WOULD GET THE NX LAUNCH FOR THIS GAME. I LOVED EBA on DS. OMG imagine additional unlockable and/or dlc levels where the Squid Girls dance, Kirby dances too so a Kirby level, etc…. !!! Potential!!!
EBA is definitely in my top 10 DS games. This doesn’t sound so much as “a sequel is happening, maybe on the NX”, more like “if a sequel happens, it might land on the NX”
PLEASE DO! The original EBA is one of my favorite games.
I hope the song selection for a new game is good, because a lot of today’s music honestly sucks. That’s the only thing I am worried about.
This. I don’t want Nikki Minaj, Drake, or fucking Miley Cyrus anywhere near the sequel if he’s serious.
Or Kanye, or Beiber, or One Direction, or Beyonce, or The 1975…
Geez, that’s a lot
Nah, I want Nikki sorry. Plus this game has to appeal to a variety of folks so you guys dreaming about nothing but dad songs us unrealistic. EBA had pop and other stuff and I didn’t like all the songs but I still enjoyed the game and appreciated it’s diverse choices.
You mean this song?

I’ve heard about this game, but never got a chance to play it. Is it really as good as people say it is?
It’s fucking fantastic. Even if the tracklist doesn’t look very appealing to you, the stories in each song make up for it. Both Ôedan games are great too, but they’re much more Japanese, obviously.
So this is basically a rhythm game with a compelling story?
Pretty much. Don’t expect an overarching narrative or anything like that, though. It’s hard to explain, so you might want to look up “Walkie Talkie Man EBA” on YouTube to get an idea of how the game plays and how the stories are presented.
Well, it kinda ties together at the end. Kind of.
EBA introduced me to Without A Fight and it’s been one of my favorite songs ever since.
Shhh. Lower those spoilers.
It’s doesn’t particularly matter for me about the story. As long as the game is fun to play (and, if in many situations, the game is challenging), I should be okay with it.

For those who never heard of ELITE BEAT AGENTS this was a classic Nintendo DS title that I STILL play to this very day!! Ive been waiting for a sequel for over 10 years now!!
Some gams look (and sound) SO stupid that I’m surprised that anybody ever cares about giving the games a chance
Alright the Agents are back to be in the NX
