Zelda Wii U Playable At Nintendo NY Store During E3 For 500 People

From June 14 through June 19, 500 Nintendo fans will be among the first people in the world to play The Legend of Zelda for the Wii U console at the Nintendo NY store. The 500 fans will be selected during a Super-Fan Signup Day, which will be held on Saturday, June 11. Only the first 500 eligible people in line when Nintendo NY opens at 9 a.m. ET will receive a wristband that they can exchange for a ticket, which guarantees them a spot to play the game during selected times June 14-19. (Fans can start lining up at 7 a.m. ET on June 11. Photo ID is required, and minors must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.)

The six-day free event will begin at noon ET on June 14, when fans will be invited to watch gameplay of The Legend of Zelda live-streamed from Nintendo’s booth at this year’s E3 video game trade show in Los Angeles to the 15-foot gaming screen inside Nintendo NY. This will be the world’s first in-depth look at the game. Then at 3 p.m. ET, the first of 500 fans will begin sampling the game for the first time.

From June 15 to June 19, Nintendo experts will also be giving guided game-play demonstrations on the big screen for everyone to watch and enjoy. Several fans may even get the chance to participate in guided demonstrations. There will also be The Legend of Zelda trivia for a chance for fans to win fun prizes.

  1. While it is obviously hotly anticipated, this type of hype marketing is ballsy unless the game is amazing. I’m sure we all hope or expect it to be, but unless you have a true AAA title, name recognition alone will not guarantee that the game is great and to have such an exclusive sneak peak 9 months in advance of release, they must be pretty damn sure of themselves… The only thing that could be more surprising, is that those 500 people played it on the NX

  2. I will be waiting for the Nintendo NX version of this Zelda ! So hyped for it! Looking forward to seeing the gameplay and details.

        1. or possibly they are refining it, do you want another game like skyrim thats full of glitches and bugs? no you dont, so sit down shut up and be a good boy, its not getting relesed any faster with your bitching, youre creating your own unhappiness. and for that im sorry for you.

          1. Lmao, I absolutely love Skyrim and it’s very miniscule amount of “glitches”. Refining it for the NX yeah probably, but seeing as how its common knowledge that its also not releasing till the NX comes out, I would say your reply is fairly redundant. Thanks for whatever that was though, I lol’d hard.

          2. Skyrim and its glitches that were mostly patched within a month of the game’s retail release?

Yeah… downloadable patches are a thing now.

          3. LOL. You are very naive if you think Zelda was delayed so Nintendo could “refine” the game. The game has been finished for some time now. It was delayed so that it could launch with the NX as a launch title. But you keep on believing whatever makes you feel better.

  4. I think the development and the release of Zelda is THE matter which piss me off the most. The game is f***ing ready for at least 3 months if not more. The fact Zelda do not have any release date yet is due to the fact they are not sure to launch the NX in March 2017. If they were sure to have the NX on that date Zelda will be out in December for the Wii U.

    1. Every single console Zelda game has released during the holiday season. This Zelda will be no different… It will launch November 2017… Which is 17 months away…. Nintendo does not have the balls to release a Zelda game in March, nor did they ever intend too. It’s PR bullshit to keep the fans at bay… 17 months away sounds awful, and Nintendo knows this.

  6. Whats really funny is that every Zelda game launches during the holiday season. Ocarina of Time, Windwaker, Twilight Princess, Skyward Sword… all holiday releases. Zelda U (or should I say Zelda NX) will also launch during the holidays. So Nintendo is showing off a game at E3, basing the entire show around it, and it’s not going to launch until Holidays 2017….. 17 months later.
