Nintendo List The Essential Nintendo 3DS Games This Summer

Summers are packed with fun activities, whether going to the beach, taking a road trip with the family or even just lounging around the house to enjoy the extra-long days and warm nights. But why not add a little Nintendo magic to accompany all of these classic summer moments? You can with Nintendo 3DS and Nintendo 2DS, which both can be played anywhere you go.

To help guide your summer Nintendo 3DS play – there are tons of great games and experiences! – Nintendo has released a Summer Gaming List. Think of this as a video game version of all those summer reading lists you had when you were a kid. This list is great for any kind of player, whether you are a more casual gamer looking for something easy to pick up and play, or a serious fan ready for a challenging adventure. Taking on the list is also a great way to enhance your knowledge about games for Nintendo systems. (You’ll know the difference between Meta Knight and a Hyrulian Knight!)

The list is simple: Just start with the game that feels best for you and work your way through the rest. You can battle enemies with Kirby while waiting for the burgers to be done in your backyard, paint princesses while playing in the park or unleash a Final Smash while relaxing on the beach. You can even race with Mario and friends during a road trip to your favorite summer location (just watch out for flying Banana Peels!).

The full Summer Gaming List is as follows:

All of these great games are now available and can easily be purchased and downloaded directly through Nintendo eShop. Downloading the digital versions of these games is great, since everything can be stored electronically on your Nintendo 3DS or Nintendo 2DS system – no need to carry around any game cards! And since Nintendo eShop offers various sales and promotions throughout the year, there is always something new to try at a great price. Additional downloadable content for many Nintendo games like Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS can also be purchased to expand the fun.

Make sure to follow Nintendo on Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr and Instagram for more details about the Summer Gaming List and updates about additional summer game challenges. By joining Nintendo’s free My Nintendo program, your Nintendo eShop purchases can also earn you points that can be redeemed for awesome rewards and discounts. Do you have what it takes to play all these games before the leaves start changing color? Find out!

  1. Okay. Has anyone else got email notifications from these? I haven’t seen any emails containing this information since Monday of last week.

    1. They would have probably mentioned it but you have to have a *New* 3DS to play it. And I’m pretty sure the majority own the old 3DS, I wouldn’t be surprised if more people owned the 2DS over the *New* 3DS tbh

  2. Hey, where’s Fire Emblem?!!

On another note, kind of funny that it’s Kirby that they seem the “action buff” game. I really need to get Planet Robobot one of these days. :D

  3. Ehhh, MK7 wasn’t really thrilling, and for the adventurer, I think Majora’s Mask 3D would have been the best (Zelda) game for that one.

I’m surprised neither FE Awakening or Fates was on here at all.
