Yooka-Laylee To Get Boxed Release

Playtonic has confirmed today that the long-awaited 3D platformer Yooka-Laylee will indeed get a boxed release. You’ll be able to purchase the game physically or digitally. If you’re a backer for the promising title then the company has announced that you can upgrade your digital pledge to a physical version. More details will come at a later point.

One such query we’re delighted to tackle today is the ever-booming call for a boxed version of Yooka-Laylee. Do we have plans for a boxed release? Today we can confirm that the answer is, yes!

We’re delighted to be able to offer Yooka-Laylee in both digital and boxed flavours in time for the game’s launch in Q1 2017. As we speak, our business badgers are busily burrowing away on an initiative that will allow Kickstarter backers to upgrade their digital pledge to a physical version, if they choose to do so. We’re not ready to share the exact details just yet, but very soon you should be able to stick your head in the badger hole and look for yourself.

  1. I think I’ll end up getting this game boxed then, as I do with most games that end up having a physical release.

Something about having a physical boxed game is satisfying for me.

    1. You know, when games use to have instruction manuals, I was all about physical. I loved reading them and seeing the character art. Now I just do digital for everything due to convenience and also having a digital library. It’s nice to have a million games and not have a million discs/cases.

  2. I thought it was always known that this game would have a physical release? It would be a total waste of time making if it was only digital. But I’m still not buying it unless it releases on the NX. Because after buying Paper Mario Color Splash, I don’t want to waste any more money on Wii U games (unless I can find them really cheap).

  3. And no i’m not trolling i’m being serious after the wii u i’m going Retro gamer
