Considering that it’s the Switch’s main selling point, transitioning from the TV to the Switch screen needs to be seamless. Luckily, it seems Nintendo has managed to pull this off. This footage from one of the Switch demonstration events shows how removing the console from the dock instantly switches the mode. Check it out below.
