Reader John recently visited his local GameStop to see about Nintendo Switch pre-orders and was told that they won’t be taking anymore pre-orders for the system as Nintendo hasn’t told them when more stock will arrive to fulfil further pre-orders. This is just one GameStop store and one employee, but hopefully we won’t see NES Mini style shortages in the United States.
Thanks for the tip, John.

This is a pretty normal occurrence for the store not to know when more stock will come in. For consoles Nintendo is guaranteed to make more because more games will be released and such so there will be more but who knows when
Already got my Switch preorder in, personally i got the neon one. Also preordered Zelda collectors edition, and Splatoon 2. I actually traded in my Wii U, 2ds, and my games, and with the 75$ trade in promotion i got over 400$! Only had to pay 32$ for a brand new system, Zelda collectors edition, and Splatoon 2! Cannot wait for March 3rd!
no one cares
No one cares that no one cares 😎
Yeah, no one really cared about his rant. Probably a 10 year old
I traded in my sisters Wii U and got to keep mine. I’ll judge what I’ll do with it and my 3DS at a later time.
Cool 😎
The $99 or $130 Zelda?
99$ saved the 30$ for the amiibos, cause all you lose is the master sword statue. Rather have those boss amiibos man.
I’d rather have both the Master Sword statue AND the BotW Zelda amiibo.
Yeah, but I didn’t have the money for that.
Word, I went for the masters, do you know if the amiibos are LE? I was thinking of picking some up maybe but not sure yet.
LE? I don’t know what you mean.
Limited Edition.
Limited edition
Oh, i dont know. They may be. I would preorder them as soon as you can just in case. That’s what I’m doing.
They said around 2 million by March… somehow I have a feeling that won’t quite be enough for the obligatory launch rush, but it could be worse.
It’ll be just like when the Wii was first released. Not a single store had it & they didn’t know when they would be getting more.
Yet their website continues to take preorders.
Nintendo didn’t do or say anything. The stores were notified by Gamestop corporate to stop taking preorders and the remaining allocation is being sold on the website (some as standalone systems, some as bundles). That’s why Neon systems were back up this morning for preorder- they had more to sell after telling the stores to cease preorders.
i think NES Classic had worldwise sales of around 200K units…. Reggie said there will be 2 Million Switches available for launch
God I still don’t why I follow this joke of a Nintendo site. Here, this’ll get you some clicks: my Gamestop guy told me Nintendo is releasing Bayonetta 3 with the Switch as a pack-in game!!! They’re just being secretive about it so it’s a big surprise! You heard it here first folks.
I think the guy in this article was wrong. I literally just pre-ordered my Switch just an hour ago on Gamestop.com. Unless he talking about in-store pre-order vs online pre-order.
He was talking about his store.
Reggie if u lie to me imma shoot up my EB Games
My GameStop wasn’t taking preorders of accessories or games for the Switch as I asked about the Master Edition. Damn it, too, as that was probably gonna be my ONLY chance to get it. I bet they are probably taking preorders of it now, though! *right eye twitch* Unless the Master Edition is only available online… In which case, damn you, Nintendo!

Switch is launching with a weak game lineup it will only have 39 games available for it and you won’t get the new Mario game until next fall
