Two New Zelda: Breath Of Wild Amiibo Announced

This weekend Nintendo announced that 2 new Amiibo will be joining the Zelda: Breath Of The Wild range which now brings the total up to 5. You can check them out below:

Zelda and the popular enemy within the game, Bokoblin, join the ranks with the already confirmed Amiibo which includes Link riding a horse, Link prepping his arrow and the rather intimidating Guardian.

It’s worth keeping hold of your Wolf Link Amiibo too as it was confirmed at E3 this year that tapping the toy onto the Wii U Gamepad or the Switch JoyCon will summon Wolf Link as a companion who will help in many ways.

  1. Why is it that the Amiibos are more expansive though? They seem to be the exact same size as the others ones except for the Guardian.

  2. The price increases seem unnecessary besides milking the idea of a new console justifying a price increase. I just ordered the Archer, Zelda and the Rider. The Bokoblin and The Guardian are way too ugly, especially with the unnecessary inflated price increases. The Guardian Amiibo looks like a trash can with tentacles for $20. Awful color scheme. Pass.

  3. Thanks god we got an amiibo of Bokoblin! I likely would start boycotting Nintendo if they didn’t make a Bokoblin amiibo!

I don’t mind this milking. I can put BotW Zelda next to Smash/Twilight Princess Zelda.

I honestly don’t know. Sadly, considering they may never restock Smash Rosalina or Smash Meta Knight because of their Super Mario & Kirby versions here in the states and maybe even other regions, it might be best to treat all amiibo as limited edition since eventually they’ll release a new set of Zelda amiibo, Smash amiibo, Kirby amiibo, Fire Emblem amiibo, etc. :/

Still loving the BotW Zelda amiibo. *checks Amazon again* Damn it! Still nothing!

  5. I’m not a troll poster but c’mon….Nintendo, these are getting out of hand. Or maybe the consumer buying them all is out of hand allowing this? Amiibo is a cool concept, but these prices are getting crazy. What’s next? A Hyrule Field grass blade Amiibo? A Super Mario blue sky Amiibo?

  6. When I saw these amiibo during the Treehouse Presentation, I was like “OH NO, THERE’S EVEN MORE AMIIBO”. I liked it, but at the same time, I was annoyed. I have SO many amiibo as it is. I’ve ran out of room to put them. My few shelves are already filled (with the ones I’ve opened). But they just keep on coming. I’m always asking myself “when will I stop buying them?”.

I can’t believe that some people only buy them for their NFC capabilities (or only buy their favorite characters). I buy them for their cool collectability and cuteness. Though sometimes when I look around in my bedroom, it makes me wish I WASN’T a collector.

    1. I agree with not understanding why people would buy amiibo only for their functionality. But how can you not understand why some people would only want their favorite characters? That makes….literally perfect sense. yes there are people who wanna collect every single one even if it sucks, but some people just wanna buy what they like lol. That seems quite logical to me :p

I got a shitload of amiibo that are my favorites. Getting all of them is out of the question not just because that would be expensive but because that would be too much space being taken. And since I want to get clear amiibo cases/boxes, that would make it even more expensive so favorites only.

        1. I forgot about the space haha. I have the entire smash collection still in box sitting on my dresser at home waiting to be put on shelves I’ve been too lazy to install and buy haha.

I’d have mine out on shelves but my son is still very grabby of things that are not his. Maybe once he’s 5 or 6, he’ll be less grabby.

            I’m leaning toward 6, though, since he’s 4 & turning 5 this summer.

Link might pull a Geralt of Rivia from The Witcher & call every horse he gets Epona, regardless of it’s gender. lol

  7. I only have Wolf Link. I’m not sure if I want to open it either being that’ll be something that could increase value by becoming a rarity….Although, being that it’s an optional Amiibo to bring Link a companion in, I would think they will release one anyways, but the original sealed could be worth something one day. Gotta wonder what the companion wolf link brought into BOTW means? Is there a connection to Twilight Princess?

Since Koroks, which we’ve only seen in the Wind Waker timeline so far, are in the game, there is no telling at this point. If it’s in the WW timeline, I doubt it’s connected to TP. Unless a rip between timelines has occurred somewhere. o.O
