Nintendo Japan has released a five-minute overview trailer for the upcoming Mario Kart 8 Deluxe on the Nintendo Switch. The video gives you a look at what to expect from the enhanced Wii U port when it releases next month. The game contains all the tracks from the original including the downloadable content as well as a new battlemode.
Looks good.
Did anyone else notice Gold Mario?
I found a problem….

The globe is still a thing for worldwides….still P2P then and not dedicated servers….
Nintendo wants to charge yearly for the same online experience we’ve been getting?
People might end up going back to MK 8 on the Wii U for those that have it.
Sadly, this just proves the game is a direct port with some patches & built in “DLC” to give the impression of a remake.
Maybe it’s just my opinion, but a discount for Wii U owners of the game would actually feel nice and fair. Because this version has no free multiplayer starting in fall and features only 2 items, a few new character and the new battle mode as additional features. Yes I am going to purchase it anyway, but from a customer perspective it’s unfair, because the Switch is Nintendos first console since decades featuring no backwards compatibility.
Agreed Tenograd, Wii U owners who bought the original game plus both DLC Packs shouldn’t have to pay for the same content again. The new content should only cost $15 to $20 at the most. As much as it would’ve been if it had been added to MK 8 vs Deluxe.
I may start playing the original again.
