We now know more about the upcoming Pikmin 3DS game that was announced by Nintendo in the past, thanks to their latest Nintendo Direct. The game is called Hey! Pikmin, and will release on July 28th. A new Pikmin amiibo figure will release the same day. We’ve included both tweets that relayed the news down below, so feel free to check them out.

This actually looks like a good Pikmin game. I didn’t like the others because of the gameplay style, but I’ll probably get this one.
Please tell me that Pikmin amiibo is being sold separately! As for the game, fuck off! I want Pikmin 4, damn it! Miyamoto said it was almost finished like 2 years ago! … The bastard might have been talking about this crap instead, though…
2018 on Nintendo Switch, eventually. Before or later it will sort out.

Looking forward to this. It’s great that the 3DS is still seeing support. This is the kind of game that’s better off being a 3DS exclusive so that a main game can come to Switch.
Not really. I think multiple games can co-exist on the same platform, as showed by Zelda-Nintendo and Zelda-Koei on the Wii U.
They are going to meld home and handheld on the Nintendo Switch so everything should find a way in the Nintendo Switch. This game was already done and it’s technically a bit embarassing for a Nintendo Switch (fine for a Nintendo 3DS), so it’s good to have it only on the Nintendo 3DS. But next 2D Pikmin game should find its way on the Nintendo Switch.
Well that’s what I was saying. This game doesn’t look like it should be the first Switch Pikmin game, does it? It’s better off being exclusive to the 3DS.
If another 2D Pikmin does come out, it’ll probably be after the 3DS is finished, so they won’t have a choice, but to put it on Switch.

When they come out before a main entry. ESPECIALLY if said main entry was promised to be nearly complete. Unless some dumbshit mistranslated Miyamoto awhile back when he said it was nearly finished.
That’s LORD Miyamoto, your Majesty. And I think it is highly likely that he was referring to this weapon. Although I was surprised when Pikmin 3 appeared so soon in the Wii U lifespan and High Command has had plenty of time to begin planning for Mark IV of the weapon.
