Pokémon Red And Green Nominated for Hall Of Fame

The official Pokémon website is reporting that the beloved Pokémon Red and Green have been nominated for the World Video Game Hall of Fame’s class of 2017. The site says that final selections will be announced in May and they will join video game classics such as Mario and Sonic.

The finalists for the World Video Game Hall of Fame’s class of 2017 have been announced, and Pokémon has made the list! The original Pokémon Red and Pokémon Green games that kicked off over 20 years of Pokémon fun are under consideration to join some of the most memorable and influential video games in history. An international panel of video game journalists and scholars will choose which titles join such previous inductees as Super Mario Bros., Sonic the Hedgehog, and Pac-Man. The final selections will be announced in May.

    I played Red, Yellow, Gold and Crystal for hours., though never on their original hardware. I used Pokemon Stadiums GB Tower on the N64 and the GameCubes GameBoy Player. I didn’t get my first Gameboy Advanced SP until 2005. And it was the one with the brighter screen.

  5. idk anything bout the video game hof so how many inductees are there? its fine with me if pokemon is an inductee but if there is only 1 inductee, it would have to go to ff7… im assuming there are more though
