Nintendo World Championships: NES Edition rated by the ESRB for Switch

Update: Pyoro says “It’s not a free game” so take that as you will.

It looks as though Pyoro was on the money once again as it has emerged this morning that the Entertainment Software Rating Board has rated Nintendo World Championships: NES Edition for the Nintendo Switch. It is not clear when the game will be arriving on the Nintendo Switch Online subscription service, but it shouldn’t be too long.

“This is a collection of 2D challenges and platformer games in which players traverse through various modes (e.g., speedrun, survival). Several challenges involve reaching specific points, while others prompt players to defeat small enemies or survive brief battles. Some games depict pixelated characters using small swords or arrows to strike at enemies; enemies typically get stunned or disappear in a flash.”

    1. Forget trust. How valuable is it to vaguely tell some news a day before it’s announced officially? This person can’t even clarify in what form this game will be available. Useless.

      1. you are right, but hey, it’s fun, little hints on what’s gonna happen next it’s pretty cool for me

      2. How about an actual announcement? Pyro isn’t always right and I don’t take hearsay as any legit source of information therefore never even listen to it.

    2. I don’t think many people took issue with pyoro when it came to the legitimacy of the claims. What people take issue with is that Pyoro is pretty useless when leakers are concerned. What is the point of knowing things 5 hours ahead of time? It doesn’t leave much room for discussion leading up to the announcement. With the Atlus leaker you have stuff to look forward to and discuss when we would otherwise know nothing about what Atlus is planning in the future, but with Pyoro there really is no point other than him proving he has insider info.

    1. Gonna be honest, this is genuinely kind of amazing. This is a title that never saw a commercial release that’s now being officially preserved. Absolute thumbs up for that :)

      1. Technically, im pretty certain you could order leftover copies of NWC through Nintendo Power at one point.
