Nintendo held their quarterly presentation for investors and analysts tonight. There, Nintendo President Kimishima brought up E3, which takes place in less than 2 months. He said that “the video game trade show E3 will be held in Los Angeles this June. Again this year, we will not be hosting a large-scale press conference for institutional investors, analysts and the media. Nintendo of America will present further information on our plans at a later date.”

Why have they forsaken live presentations? Don’t they want legendary moments like the LoZ Twilight Princess reveal anymore?
Considering the congestion of “reaction” videos form YouTube I don’t see their being moments like those. I mean small channels have reaction videos and their garbage so it’s not as exciting as it was back then. If anything I think the popularity of the game is what we should be looking at now
It’ll most likely be a big E3 Digital Event or maybe even a Spaceworld type of presentation and Im ok with that. All I wanna see is new unannounced titles/more games, new features for the Switch, and some surprises. The only thing I’ll miss about Nintendo not being on stage is the live crowd reactions but other than that I’m good with however Nintendo wants to present their E3 showing. The games and features of the system is what matters for me

I hope they just mean they’re doing a big Nintendo Direct, Reggie said it was going to be a big E3 this year.
I’m afraid to get excited over E3. Every time I get my hopes up, I’m brutally disappointed. And if Pikmin 4 and/or Animal Crossing for Switch isn’t announced, then my disappointment will happen once again. I sure hope that the 3DS Pikmin game doesn’t delay Pikmin 4.
They expect 10 million sold in ten months. We are at 3 million with Zelda. Only other system sellers are Mario and maybe Pokemon.
I hope they look at the more successful Directs from years past and try to replicate that. The Direct that they did for the Switch in January was not the way to go about it… it was incredibly dull with very few high points. I am looking forward to news of Pikmin 4 and Super Smash Bros. for the Switch.
Actually, that wasn’t a Nintendo Direct. It was a special Switch presentation. So it was done differently than the typical Directs. And unfortunately, all in Japanese.

Kimishima says Nintendo will once again fuck themselves out of the hugest advertisement ever, again this year.
Nintendo do need to learn how to advertise themselves better to a broader audience as the majority of gamers think Nintendo are child friendly or to put it bluntly a company that more like an overly protective parent, which is ok in small doses but they’re a bit over the top most of the time.
