Wii YouTube Support Will Cease On June 30th

Those of you who have booted up your Wii console recently and have ventured over to the YouTube application will have noticed that there’s a message once you boot it stating that “This device will no longer be compatible with the YouTube platform starting June 30th. For a list of compatible devices visit the YouTube help website.” Sadly, I would think there’s still quite a few people who own Wii consoles who still use its applications such as Netflix and YouTube on a fairly regular basis.

  1. Ok, now I’m done. I am officially done. I am n longer a Nintendo fan. I thought Nintendo was finally learning, but ten they do this! This is an outrage and the worst move that Nintendo has ever made. I am offended. If EA can release some sports game on the Wii but not the Wii U, why can’t Nintendo respect me and my people?

    1. ???

Not that i agree when it comes to Nintendo and their policies, but this is not their fault. This is all on Youtube/Google. They own the app and they have the right stop supporting a device if it is not profitable.

  2. It’s happening. Nintendo is closing in on everything people enjoy. First YouTube on Wii, then the Wii U, then the internet browsers on the Wii and Wii U.

All of this for a PAID internet connection on a system that has no pad to type characters on.

  3. Typically I just use my Wii to play games, and that’s what video game consoles are supposed to be used for, isn’t it? Of course, I just use the Wii Mode on my Wii U, I don’t actually use my Wii anymore. Who uses Wii Mode on their Wii U?
