There’s a brand new Harvest Moon game coming to Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and PC, and Polygon have gone hands-on with the title at E3 in Los Angeles this week. The game ditches the full-3D perspective in favour of 2.5D style which is meant to evoke memories of the very first Harvest Moon game. Here’s the details you need to know.
- 2.5D style is meant to evoke the very first Harvest Moon game
- Uses 3D-rendered models
- Flat perspective and grid-based, limited range of motion
- Switch version will have full touch controls
- No same-sex relationships available,
- Maekawa says that Natsume will introduce that element “when the time is right”
- Maekawa didn’t say whether this was a statement directed at Light of Hope, or for the series in general
2.5D? If they wanted to evoke the original harvest moon they would definitely have sprite based models, at least that’s what truly made the game charming to me.
Well, here’s the thing, Gammalad doesn’t seem to be too happy about you guys using his thumbnail (at least according to his Facebook comment) 😕
I mean….I found it funny to be honest, they could have at least credited the video they ripped this from lol
Pfft… I feel sad that people believe this is the true harvest moon we grew to play and love
Natsume *is* getting better as they go along, so maybe this will be worth checking out. But I agree, nothing can beat Marvelous/Story of Seasons.
No same sex marriage, just the way it should be. It’s a kids game and seriously, fictional videogame character’s don’t need a sexual relationship preference. It isn’t real to begin with.
