One of the surprise announcements of E3 2017 was the announcement of Metroid: Samus Returns on the Nintendo 3DS and Metroid Prime 4 for the Nintendo Switch. Metroid Prime 4 is a way off, but Metroid: Samus Returns is out this September. Gaming publication GameSpot recently caught up with Koji “IGA” Igarashi at the expo and asked the acclaimed designer what he thoughts were about Samus’s Nintendo 3DS adventure.
A lot of the later Castlevania games share many similarities with Metroid. What are your thoughts on the new Metroid game that was announced for 3DS?
The two of us are extremely excited! [Laughs] We’re looking forward to it!
