Nintendo Applies For Nintendo Check-In Trademark

Nintendo has something up its sleeves as it has been revealed that they have applied for a new trademark for something called Nintendo Check-In. The trademark application was made by Nintendo Co., Ltd. Any guesses as to what the services might be?

  1. Nintendo First Order Commander Quadraxis

  2. Maybe Nintendo will be opening up WIFI hotspots around the world called “Nintendo Check-In” Kiosks to allow players to play Online using Free Wifi from the Kiosks.

I think that’s what it is because the symbol looks like one of those Location Symbols you see on your Smartphone.

  3. I’m going to guess it’s a generic facebook like check in function they have intending primarily for social media/marketing. At best it’ll be used to give players digital promotional items who check in at certain places.

  4. I honestly think it’s for the interaction with the Nintendo theme park. I vaguely recall news on interaction between Switch /3DS and the attractions?

  5. They did say that Super Nintendo World at Universal Studios Japan/Orlando/Hollywood would interact w/ Switch units, so this is likely how they’re going about that there and other places like Nintendo NY and tour events. I also imagine this will work with stores like Best Buy and Gamestop.

Please don’t be anything bad. :/ Like no voice chat on the actual Switch bad. Seriously, Nintendo. Quit listening to fanboys with dumb ideas like forcing people to use their phone for voice chat instead of the actual damn system like everybody else does that makes bloody consoles.

  7. Wow, what an amazing logo they came up with. Super memorable, super smart, super tongue-in-cheek. Definitely one of the best location pin trademarks I’ve seen.
