Bandai Namco Tells Switch Owners To Focus On Xenoverse 2 Before FighterZ

Although Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 is coming to Nintendo Switch in September, some Dragon Ball fans are still asking for a Switch version of the recently announced Dragon Ball FighterZ. However, developer Tomoko Hiroki has told Nintendo players to wait until Xenoverse 2 has released before talking about a FighterZ port. Check out the full interview with ShonenGames here.

KS: There’s an overwhelmingly insane support for a Nintendo Switch version of FighterZ. Have you seen the outreach and is there anything you would like to say to them?

TH: In terms of the Switch version, we’re currently working on Xenoverse 2 for the Switch, so we want players to first go there, and then we can talk about FighterZ.

    1. That’s how it should be. You focus on the game that’s coming and then other games. If they said Fighter Z was coming then how many people would buy Xenoverse 2

  1. Lol wt an ass. I’m still buying Xenoverse 2 regardless but still it doesn’t even play the same way so that’s kind of dumb if they make a decision to bring it over or not based on that. Some people might not like arena type fighters and love Dragonballz. Well money talks is wt they say

Such is the way of Nintendo consoles & some 3rd party support these days: if you want support from them, you better buy, buy, buy what they are currently sending to the Switch. If not… Baby, bye, bye, bye. lol

    1. That’s not what he meant. lol

He said in his own comment that they already porting one DBZ game on Switch. If they port another one for Switch. It would delay the game til 2019. lol

      1. Im sure Fighter Z has been in developement for a while, why not bring that one to the switch instead of Xenoverse 2? It just seems very backwards to ask us to support them by buying an old game before theyll give us a new one, because you can bet your ass that if this one doesnt sell well, theyll use that as an excuse not to bring over FZ.

Even though they are both different games, and a 2D dragon ball game is what a lot of us have been asking for. Why even get something we dont want so finally get what weve been asking for? Its just ass backwards.

As long as I have something to bitch about or make fun of, I’m not laying off of anything.

Keeping negative feelings bottled up inside is a bad thing & I did that most of my childhood. Never, ever going back to doing that crap.

Sorry but that’s what I got from the whole “lay off the negative juice” line. Telling me to lay off of it means I should be quiet about it & keeping quiet about how you feel negatively is essentially keeping it inside & letting it bottle up.

            1. Not really man. I’m not trying to silence you or say that you shouldn’t be upset, but I think it’s kind of pointless to get mad at these kind of statements when it’s a common practice. Sure,PS4 and Xbox don’t have to do this but the switch is a new system, interest has to be gauged and sales need to be proven.

    1. Its that stupid wanna be MMO dragon ball game. It uses a 3rd person perspective when fighting, its really more of a button masher than anything, and a poor excuse of a DBZ game.

I don’t know. I think that’s just the name they went with because it looks & sounds cool. Basically, just one of many Japanese habits. In this case, the habit of naming something because it looks cool & not because it actually represents anything.

  3. You heard the man. We must buy Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 for the Nintendo Switch to show support. Make it happen, folks. Prove ’em wrong and they will port FighterZ to the Switch.
