Smash Bros. Style Game ‘Brawlout’ Coming To Switch

Nintendo fans are clambering for information about the next new Smash Bros. game. Nintendo hasn’t let anything slip just yet but a new game is on the horizon that may just quench your Smash Bros. thirst. Brawlout is currently available in early access on Steam but it’s been confirmed that the game will be making its way over to Nintendo Switch later this year. The intriguing platform-fighter is packed with features with Stock, Time or Team Battles available for players to jump in to. A Rage Mode mechanic is also present in Brawlout which lets you take back the flow of the battle, giving you the upper hand when it is needed most when your meter is full.

As well as a robust online offering, 4 players can also get together in local play.

Here are some of the online features:

  • A robust Ranked match system, complete with regional leaderboards
  • 1v1 casual matches for low-stress competition
  • 2-4 player private lobbies where players can practice or mess about to their heart’s content
  • The Brawlout Network where players can check their fight stats, match history and replays
  • Brawlout TV which allows for live spectating and watching of specific player replays
  • Weekly competitive tournaments for those looking to prove their Brawlout skills

Check out the trailer below which includes the reveal of a familiar face. It’s been confirmed that the protagonist from Hyper Light Drifter will be playable.

  1. Nintendo First Order Commander Quadraxis

    ||It’s not that bad, it is certainly better than that other clone and it has way better characters overall…||

    1. Brawlout vs Icons: Combat Area

      Brawlout
Pros: Interesting characters; available for Switch
Cons: Possibly mediocre mechanics compared to Nintendo’s SSB

      Icons: Combat Area
Pros: Developed by veteran SSBB modders
      Cons: Ugly-looking characters

      1. Icons: CA might be done by PM vets, but without Sakurai and his team laying the groundwork, these guys cant make a decent melee clone (or brawl clone) to save their lives. That alpha looked horrible

    1. Nintendo First Order Commander Quadraxis

      ||Anything compared to Smash Brothers is of course rubbish and irrelevant…||

  2. I don’t know what you guys are talking about but this game looks good! It has a really good artsyle, interesting characters, and looks to have a good fighting system as well. Will be a good fit for the Switch.

  3. Animations are truly good, but everything else looks bare. Somewhat interesting though, want to see more of its content.
I concur with Commander, better than the other one but I don’t see the characters, well anyone should be long miles far from Nintendo in that department it seems.

  4. Ridley X3 {R.I.P. Chester Bennington of Linkin' Park. Thank you for the awesome music. You will be missed. *cries*}

These games need to stop making falling into water an instant death thing. Unless the character can’t swim or the water is fast moving like in that one Donkey Kong Country stage, characters should be able to swim in the water at least for a few seconds. Or better yet, make it impossible for them to die from falling in water & actually staying in it. This would add some more strategy & a bit more difficulty into these stages. Also, they could put some kind of other danger in the water to keep players from hiding in the water for too long during a fight.
