Mario + Rabbids Dev Says Nintendo Are “Quite Open-Minded” To New Ideas

If you were to say to a Nintendo fan 10 years ago that Mario, Luigi, and Peach were going to appear in a video game alongside a cast of crazy ‘Rabbids’ wielding arm cannons and weapons, they’d probably tell you to be quiet and laugh in your face. Times have certainly changed and with the arrival of the brilliant Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle on Nintendo Switch, we could see more crossovers in the future.

Although Nintendo are (quite rightly) protective over their Intellectual Property, David Soliani from Ubisoft, who’s the creative director for Mario + Rabbids, talks about proposing new ideas to Nintendo:

“Every time you are proposing something crazy to Nintendo, they are quite open-minded, but you need a good justification and a good logic to create something in the Mario universe,” he explained.

Hopefully, with the great reception Mario + Rabbids is receiving and with Nintendo’s open mindedness, we will get to experience more crossover titles in the future.

I wish they hadn’t have been open minded to the abomination that was “Metroid Prime”: FedshitForce…

Have you gotten that virus that abomination has caused fully out of your system yet?

Sadly, I don’t think that’s gonna happen since Tanabe supported that trash & he’s in charge of Metroid Prime 4 right now. Not to mention he’s been involved with the latest trashy Paper Mario games of Sticker Star & Color Splash. That guy went from giving us Metroid Prime to pure, unadulterated trash. He’s fallen lower than Miyamoto & he must be stopped before it’s too late. Sadly, there is nothing I can do but hope he gets fired or comes to his senses but I don’t see either happening.

There is no chill til that game’s events are retconned or erased entirely from Metroid history.
