You may remember that Japanese gamers had the opportunity to get special cap Pikachu forms. Well those of us in the west can join in with the fun starting September 19th. However, you can only get one cap which is the only setback here. You can claim your cap by visiting the link here and it’s all dependant on when you apply for the cap which one you will get. Here’s the dates and which cap you’ll get for that date:
- 9/19/17 – 9/25/17: Original hat
- 9/26/17 – 10/2/17: Hoenn region hat
- 10/3/17 – 10/9/17: Sinnoh region hat
- 10/10/17 – 10/16/17: Unova region hat
- 10/17/17 – 10/23/17: Kalos region hat
- 10/24/17 – 10/30/17: Alola region hat
The hats also have different move sets to spice things up a little. If you go to see the upcoming movie then you’ll get a QR code that lets you obtain the I Choose You hat Pikachu in Ultra Sun or Ultra Moon.
I hope this isn’t like the cosplay Pikachu where it can’t be migrated to a newer gen. I really want to use the one with the Sinnoh hat if they eventually remake Sinnoh.
I’m still pissed off about that to this day. I spent a lot of time leveling it up, winning all the contest ribbons for it, giving it the best moves that I liked, nicknaming it, & loving the unique tail design with the black spot to make the tip of the tail look like a heart only to find out I can’t take it with me when I upgrade to Sun & Moon.

This looks like something that would be for Pokémon Go. I just can’t seem to picture these being in a 3DS Pokémon game.
I hate that you can only choose one. I KNOW the majority of people are just going to choose the original hat not just because it comes out first, but for nostalgia. makes it hard to collect them.

I like the green, red, & black hat. Shame, though. This Pikachu will most likely have Ash as it’s OT so I won’t be able to nickname it… In which case, like Ash Greninja before it, I have no interest in this giveaway so I’ll pass.
