The holidays are rapidly approaching, and it will be the first holiday season where gamers will be able to buy a Nintendo Switch. Unfortunately, the Switch supply problems that have plagued Nintendo all year could get even worse, especially if the holiday shopping season puts the strain on an already struggling supply. However, according to Reggie Fils-Amie, Nintendo is focused on keeping that from happening. Here’s what he had to say to Variety:
“Certainly the demand is there, and our supply chain is there (to hit the 10 million goal). Are we going to have enough for the holiday? That’s what we are focused on.”
I hope Nintendo is just as focused on keeping the SNES Classic supplied throughout the year. It better not be another bull crap “I can’t find one ANYWHERE” situation.
It will be a miracle if it isn’t. At least with their actual consoles it will eventually subside, but you can’t say the same for their “side projects”.
Like the “I’d so kill someone if I wouldn’t go to prison, or hell, for that!” rare amiibo! (lol)
Well I don’t have the worries (nor the chortles) about getting a Switch because I’ve got one surprisingly early then expected; on August 29th. And no, if anybody was planning to ask, I didn’t buy Mario + Rabbids: Kingdom Battle. My body is ready for Super Mario Odyssey. I’m also hoping to get an SNES Classic Edition sometime within October/November.
You’re missing out if you don’t get Mario + Rabbids kingdom battle. It’s a great game!
Right rabbid peach is charming.

I’m in a similar situation. I didn’t bought Mario & Rabbids because my priority is Super Mario Odyssey
I’m surprised I was able to preorder for the launch with how crazy it’s gotten. It doesn’t even have any of the technical proble.s that e reported about online, it runs silky smooth.
Actions are bigger than words.
Well he didn’t say many words.
I think is clear that many Switchs for christmas is the right moment for people get one.
So I agree what Lord Regginator said.
I just hope he keeps his word. I don’t disagree with his statement, but you know. They’ve promised a lot before and didn’t deliver. Not that it’s like that every time ofc.
Yeah I know but that’s not their fault, they explaned in another interview that the two companies have to make not only the Switches but also some component for the iPhones.
They actually promised us more NES Mini, and instead they cancelled the production. That’s is true. Just search it up.
It’s not that I’m trying to get them, I just like to see they do it instead of hearing them promise us stuff.
ABout the Nes Mini I’m totally agree with you. I cannot had the chance to get one, but personally it is better to me to not have the Nes Mini, because (if it’s real was I read last month) that the Switch has inside the NES firmware which let’s you play NES game on the Switch.
So basically I can play NES games on the Switch (on some sort of streaming or download it) instead of buying a NES mini.
Haha, it would be cooler to have it on the NES mini, wouldn’t it? But of not all people needed that console. Plenty with NES games on Wii, some on 3DS and some more on Wii U. Yeah, Switch got an in-build NES emulator. I just don’t hope we have to stream those games. I would really hate that, and it wouldn’t fit with the on-the-go concept of Switch.
Yeah I think it’s not that the scope of the Switch. But what I read is only a rumor so that’s why I wrote you this.
There will be NES and SNES games for those who pays for Switch Online. We know that much.
I’m hoping to see also N64 but it’s too much.
Virtual Console should come, and I think there even is some hope for GameCube. Not that those Aca Neo Geo games aren’t great, but it isn’t enough to sustain the Virtual Console hunger :P
I only play Metal Slug from that type of games.
Yeah I’m waiting for the Virtual Console.
I would recommend Garou: Mark of the Wolves. It’s probably the best fighter ever made.
I submit that Reggie has told so many lies that even he doesn’t know what’s true & what’s false anymore.
He has even insulted us at times.
True. It’s not cool to patronize your consumers & treat them like idiots/children (of course even some children are more intelligent than some adults.) Sure there are a few idiots out there but still.
Yeah, I really don’t like that guy.
It’s possible Reggie is genuine & a great all around guy like Miyamoto & someone you can actually have hours of fun hanging out with and is simply reading from a script handed to him by some asshole Nintendo board member who wrote & ordered Reggie to read said script.
Some of his reactions feels so genuine when it comes from him under videos-interviews.
If he didn’t come off so much as a Yes Man, I wouldn’t be so negative concerning him. (Damn you, Jim Carrey, for giving me that term! lol)
I can’t be your Yes Man.
I don’t wanna be your Superman!
(Damn you, Bjørn Johan Muri, for giving me that song! lol)
I looked that song up and it’s awesome. I’ve listened to it about 3 or 4 times now. … And that number just increased. lol
Norwegian music for ya ;) He was popular because of Eurovision Song Contest, but faded away quickly. I used to listen to him back when I was 19-20 x) THAT’S A LONG TIME AGO XD
Holidays will be interesting.
They launched the console on very irregular season, and it worked for them better than expected.
Confidence in the console is pretty high all around, and ramping up the marketing for holiday season would do wonders.
When they can secure Tegra X2, they should start selling “portable” and “home” console SKU’s.
250$ Switch without dock would sell. And Tegra X2 could almost double battery efficiency.
16 nm FinFET should help battery life, but I don’t care much about that. You can always use battery banks, but you can’t add performance. X2 can get up to 1465Mhz, and that should make a noticeable difference in performance, and that would probably demand nothing more than X1 at peak performance in power consumption. Wouldn’t hurt with those to Denver-cores as well. But I think Switch is clocked down to 760-770Mhz even in docked mode, and down to 380ish in handheld. I bet they could get X2 to run at 700Mhz handheld and keep the batterylife more or less the same. Would be neat with a 1080p screen then, but that would probably drain more battery. If X2+1080p: add some Samsung Amoled(less power consumption) and some more mAh to the battery, and call it New Switch/Swich Pro/ Switch Elite or something, and you got yourself a guy with two Switches :D The Switch has proven that developers manages to scale graphics in an blink of an eye, so a new more powerful console wouldn’t mess up for the old one since the game would easily fit ever platform.
But I seriously believe something like this will happen.
Yeah I agree with this, but I think we will see a New Switch on 2019 or 2020.
I think, if we see a Switch console with Tegra X2 (Which is called Tegra Pascal I think) that will be a New Nintendo Switch which is a sort of upgrade as they did for the 3DS.
Pascal name of the 16nm GPU architecture nVidia has on their latest GTX 1000-series card, and more. Like X1 and X2 – which is the names of the chips.
And they’ve almost aaaalmost said they’re working on the next “thing”.
Switch could beat WiiU lifetime sales by march next year if Ninty just make more Switches lol … There’s loads of amazing games out on Switch and Odyssey is coming, if they don’t have enough people will go nuts :/
||As long as you all want one, you are in our complete control…||
Hail Commander Quadraxis!
I’ll believe it when I see it. I have to wonder, though. I wonder if they are intentionally holding a lot of stock back so they can be prepared to sell a pretty number during the Holidays. Well I guess we’ll find out soon enough since they are fast approaching.
