Takashi Mochizuki, technology reporter for the Wall Street Journal, has provided some information from Square Enix’s earnings press conference. The company has said that it doesn’t have any big titles planned for January to March which means that both Project Octopath Traveler and Dragon Quest XI will come after April 2018.
(resending)
Square Enix at earnings press conference 1:
-No big title releases planned Jan-Mar, meaning DQ11 for west, Octopath would be in FY18 (from April) or after
-Feel Japan-made RPG getting positive feedback these days for their design and stories— Takashi Mochizuki (@6d6f636869) February 6, 2018

Have a feeling Octopath will be in June and DQ11 will be in September. Should be able to complete Octopath before DQ11 drops!
Everyone I know including myself is hyped for Octopath.

This is music to my ears. I’m highly anticipating both titles. The Switch is gonna be the system for JRPGs
I feel like Octopath should have an option for scanlines.
Not really good news, at least for Project Octpath. I was expecting it earlier.
In the case of Dragon Quest I suspect they are waiting for a larger userbase, but then it’s feeling old. Many already bought it on PS4.
