Eurogamer has updated its recent Metroid Prime 4 post and says that the lead developers for the upcoming Metroid Prime 4 on the Nintendo Switch will be Bandai Namco Japan. Bandai Namco Singapore is now busy developing another Nintendo Switch game, which according to the earlier leak could be a new entry in the Ridge Racer franchise. This has yet to be confirmed by Eurogamer.
“Since publication I’ve heard Bandai Namco’s Japan studio is also working on the project, with the intention it will now take the lead on its development while Singapore moves to focus on another Switch game”

What an epic twist… Bandai Namco Japan developing Metroid Prime 4 for the Switch. Now more than ever, I’m completely sold! Let’s hope that Bandai Namco Singapore develops another Switch exclusive Ridge Racer 8.
I’m sure Ridge 8 will be ours. Namco and Nintendo are like buddy buddies right now and with Xenoverse 2 Switch outselling PS4’s, Fighter Z is next to get ported. Things are looking great for Nintendo this year.

What threat? Namco is a competent studio but I will keep an eye on their progress over this important game.

The threat that Commie is talking about is google, apparently they are going to develop their own gaming machine, i doubt commie is talking about ataribox.
@Nintendo First Order Commander Quadraxis, And by the way Commie, i heard from a reliable source that Quadraxis already reapeared but not in the way you were expecting (do the math and you’ll find it), remember when Tanabe talked about that the prime series is like a shared universe and that’s why he included Sylux ship in MP3, that’s the hint i’ll give to you.
First I hear Comcast is thinking about trying to outbid Disney for 21st Century Fox (no, No, NO!!), then I hear AT&T and Time Warner could merge if a judge allows it (that’s far worse as AT&T is a shit company that will probably fuck over all the non Time Warner channels to give their newly owned channels an uneven playing field), and now Google is thinking about making their own gaming machine (this one isn’t so bad from where I’m sitting…) These last 2-3 days have been very interesting so far…
Yes, i am a big fan of the fantastic four and has been so sad to see how fox handled the franchise…though i think that nowadays everything that disney does is overrated, don’t get me wrong they produce great movies, but some are cringeworthy (thor ragnarok and the last star wars, pirates of the caribean) and warner, oh my freaking God, who runs that company? they destroyed my favorite hero: superman!!!
You forgot about the ataribox thing, althought nobody knows what in the world is that (even atari itself, lol). The google thing might be interesting, i heard that it is like a streaming service like netflix, if it is that way i am not interested because of the permanent internet connection, some youtubers (the cancer of gaming community) are pretty excited about this rumor, they are sure that google are going to give them more money for advertising that console/service.
Could Singapore now be focused on Ridge Racer 8? Or DBFZ for switch?
Singapore is the one that’s full of ex LucasArts devs so I was hoping it was them.

That just makes me more, not less, worried since the guy that will be supervising will be Tanabe who was a producer on Paper Mario’s Color Splash and Sticker Star and who brought us FedshitForce. (He was also involved with Chibi-Robo: Zip Lash which was the death of the Chibi-Robo franchise from the GCN…)

I am not worried about MP4, remember when i told you that Lord Kimishima really loves the series and he would not leave the series die? (yup, before samus returns), they really wants Metroid to succeed, they really want to focus on the hardcore audience and metroid and bayonetta are proof of that, don’t mind about the labo that’s a side project and it won’t be the focus of the Switch (believe me)

Btw, i heard that the reason about the nintendo switch online delay is because of the pokebank, take it with a grain of salt, also i heard something about pokemon on switch that…i’d better discuss it with you if it ends true.
I don’t know why people gets mad at Miyamoto and Tanabe, they are not perfect and they have made some mistakes (that game we don’t want to remember for 3ds), i want to say that Iwata (RIP) also has some fault on those project, he was the one who aproved them, i don’t want to say that Iwata was a mad man, but recently i learned that you have to remeber people not only by their good actions but also by their mistakes, The biggest mistake he did is to follow the HAL laboratory way of thinking “simple and accesible for everybody” (read the kirby 20th anniversary), look how this new nintendo is going beyond simple, what do you think sir?
This is also good news, for they stay true to the art style of the series. Some examples are dragon ball Xenoverse 1 and 2.
So assuming this really is all true, this will be the first Metroid Prime game to be developed by a Japanese studio. This’ll be curious for sure.
Well, that’s better. Namco can risk a Ridge Racer, not really a Metroid Prime.
Cant wait to try out invading newbies in the new metroid. I just hope they make the world less linear than DS3
