The New Sonic Comic Gets Two New Villains

This April Sonic fans will have a brand new comic to read thanks to IDW. With the new comic, which is meant to be a fresh start, comes two new villains. These two villains are the skunk brothers Rough and Tumble and they will be causing all sorts of trouble for Sonic and Knuckles in issue three. Kotaku reports that Rough and Tumble are the first of a whole host of new characters planned for the new series. Rough is the little one while Tumble is the big one. You can check out their designs below.

“They’re independent agents, and more bullies than masterminds, but they’re tough enough to maybe become someone’s henchmen down the line.”

“Ian’s pretty much able to come up with folks on the fly and any major characters we run by Sega for approval,” said Mariotte of the creation process. “There are a few stages, from Ian’s initial paragraph or two description of the character, to getting someone like the talented Tyson Hesse to draw up designs and turnarounds for Sega to see the character, to having a final design and solidifying their personality in the script.”

Thanks to Nintendo First Order Reaver for the news tip!

  1. They look okay but I’d prefer Infinite. Then again, this is for the comic which I’ll never actually read, anyway.
