We found out during the Nintendo Direct on Thursday that Splatoon 2 will be getting its first form of paid downloadable content in the form of the Octo Expansion. The Splatoon 2 Twitter account has shared a few short details about what to expect. The account says there’s “over 80” levels in the Octo Expansion while the Nintendo Direct seemed to suggest it was just 80. You also get support from Pearl and Marina who allow you to skip stages and get straight into the story. The account also confirms that there are absolutely no differences between Inklings and Octolings in multiplayer and they also share the same gear.

I found a new screenshot of the expansion’s levels. One has Agent 8 in a level, with giant Nintendo Gamecubes floating around! One of those Gamecubes even has a controller with it!
Wow I wasn’t sure if it was actually 80 levels or just “areas” as in different places within a level. Good to know
I think the conflicting numbers just means that there’s a level 81, which is likely a final boss.
