The game, which is developed by the acclaimed Retro Studios, will only take up 6.6.GB of file space on your Nintendo Switch system which is a lot less than the Wii U version which is twice as big. Without further ado here’s eight minutes of footage of the game running on the Nintendo Switch.

  1. Definitely getting this amazing game again for another playthrough. Best Buy Gamer’s Club and trading in the Wii U version will ensure a decent enough discount. Really wish it was a collection that also included Returns though. That would’ve been great.

Until then I’ve got plenty of games to play on my SNES Classic that I’ve never played before and others to replay again 🙂

    1. Nice. I got it for $48 on Amazon Prime and also sold my Wii U copy, which I sold for $10. This game is worth the double dip to me. Best DKC game in my opinion. It would’ve been cool to get an HD version of Returns though.

    2. Not sure if this is interesting to anybody but I just decided to some compression on some Wii U games to see how small I can get them. Previously I compressed the hole thing, this time I did it per-folder or per-file and I got much better compression ratio’s than before.

      1. Damn it, it posted by itself. Here’s the results I got.

        LOZ:BOTW | 11.7 GB | 5.26 GB | 45%
        DK:TF | 10.6 GB | 5.35 GB | 50%
        MK8 | 4.01 GB | 2.46 GB | 61%
        PaperMario | 7.55 GB | 3.73 GB | 49%

      1. I would bite if it’s $40. $60 is obviously overpriced when the original launch is $50 and it’s $20 today. It’s ridiculous. DKC Returns 3D was $10 cheaper and has a new mode, 3D and new world/levels.

      1. It’s not no matter what you think. The original was $50 and costs $20 right now. With Funky aka “easy mode” as the only change in this game, it’s not worth $60 at all. $40 would’ve been a better price point.

      2. But why shouldn’t people buy it if they’ve never played it before? It’s a great game, I wouldn’t want anyone to miss out on it. It’s even made more accessible with Funky Kong being the “easy mode” of the game.

So, if they didn’t own the game on the Wii U, I really don’t see a reason for someone not to pick up the Switch version.

  2. Whilst I would’ve liked more new stuff in this I love the game so much that I’ll get it again. Plus I can get for £40 with discount so don’t have any hang ups on the price
