AtGames Confirms Mega Drive Mini Is Based On “New And Improved” Tech

The team over at AtGames has confirmed on Twitter that they are the team behind the recently unveiled Mega Drive Mini. What is also interesting is that they deleted the tweet with the announcement. The company is known for making previous builds of the Mega Drive and “flashback” consoles. However, the team did say that the Mega Drive Mini is “new and improved” so it should have some new tech behind it.

The rumors are true! Sega is going to release the Mega Drive Mini in Japan, powered by the latest AtGames technology. This same new and improved technology will find its way into the US and other territories later this year!

  1. Some things to take into account.
    1) AT games makes poor quality clone systems with many audio issues. Some systems didnt even allow you to save. The ones I have tried are far away from the snes and nes mini quality.
    2) Previous AT genesis based systems had more than a 100 games
    3) Usually AT genesis based systems accept “ilegal” roms

If this new tech means no audio and lag issues then it is a good thing. If in addition it allows you to input roms, then it worth even mote than the snes and nes mini.

  2. Excellent read, I also have done a few similar reviews on the SEGA mega drive and genesis devices. I was wondering if you would like to guest post on my website. Please let me know as a fellow gamer and tech guy.

  3. Very efficiently written information. It will be priceless to anybody who uses it, together with myself. Sustain the good work – for positive i will try extra posts.
