Shinya Takahashi Teases A Possibility Of A Wave Race Revival

Wave Race hasn’t been revisited by Nintendo for quite some time. Wikia managed to speak to Nintendo’s Shinya Takahashi and asked whether there is a chance that the water sports series could eventually come back in some form on the Nintendo Switch. Here’s what Mr. Takahashi had to say on the matter.

“You may see that game again,” Takahashi teases with a grin. “We have been trying to make many games and that may be one of them … I personally love Wave Race!”

  1. I’ve been eagerly waiting for a new entry in the series! There are many franchises that could have great revivals on the Switch. Given the fan-oriented overall approach on Nintendo with the Switch I can see more of that happening. Fingers crossed

      1. 1. It has not been released yet, so we don’t even know its future – but fair enough.
        2. Then we’ll go over to the “or something like that”-part of the sentence. Which I added specifically for people wanting to argue against my Labo-statement xPPP

  2. Ice Climbers revival. Maybe they could call it Ice Climbers Uprising? I wouldn’t mind a series of revivals using Uprising as a subtitle. Since Ninty loves re-releasing games, all the Uprising games could be released as a compilation in the future some day for a future system called the Uprising Compilation or something.
