The Japanese Voice Of Professor Oak In The Pokemon Anime, Ishizuka Unshou, Has Passed Away

We have some sad news to report to you. It was announced that Ishizuka Unshou, the Japanese voice of Professor Oak in the Pokemon anime, passed away a few days ago because of esophagus cancer. According to a tweet that relayed the news, “he had been under medical care, but no treatment had proved effective”. The tweet can be seen down below. Rest in peace, Ishizuka Unshou.

  1. I remember when I first started watching anime in Japanese. The first series I picked up was Naruto and Ishizuka was the voice of Zabuza. He really sounded intimidating. He will be missed.
