Ubisoft Confirms Assassin’s Creed Odyssey Contains A Zelda: Breath Of The Wild Easter Egg

Assassin’s Creed Odyssey is now available for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One and is also available to stream in Japan on the Nintendo Switch. Kotaku has been playing around with the game and have discovered a genuine The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild easter egg in the game. They spoke to Ubisoft who indeed confirmed that it is a special easter egg. Here’s a description of what was found. I won’t say where it’s located but if you want to know then read Kotaku’s article.

“I climbed the islet and found a little circle of rocks with a tiny little figure inside of it with a leaf on its head. We reached out to Ubisoft and confirmed that it is indeed a reference to the Korok Seed puzzles in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. You can’t really do anything besides kick the rocks around, but it’s still a really cool headnod to Zelda.”

  1. That’s pretty cute, honestly. It’s nice to see Ubisoft’s and Nintendo’s growing relationship as of recently.

      1. We don’t know that for sure. I do know the AnvilNext 2.0 engine takes a pretty hefty toll on the hardware.
If you really want to play, get a PC. That’s where it will be the absolute best.

  2. Well, I at least agree on Ubiosoft being a greed bunch that are also happening to lean into very PC culture as well. I was pretty surprised with Farcry 5 though…that parodied Trump and that whole ‘Gender’ fiasco.

  3. Kick the rocks around? No no… You’re supposed to pick the rocks up and drop them on the lil leaf thing’s hear.

  4. Too bad this Easter egg isn’t in the PS4 version, which I just bought (but haven’t started yet, due to Shadow Of The Tomb Raider). I would have bought this on the Switch if it were a physical release. It’s my favorite series. Though I wasn’t a fan of the new gameplay in Origins.

    1. Bro it’s just a stupid rock polygon on a game nobody will care anymore in a year, in 2 years it’s for sale for 5 bucks next to toilet paper, these games are not ART and don’t hold value like Nintendo. in 30 years everyone will still play the Nintendo games of today, even pay for it, but nobody will even know what assassins greed it nor will ONE SINGLE person in the world replay this game. DO you replay all these crap games from PSX ? Porsche racer, Men in black much ?

  5. Great little reminder from Ubisoft that you really should be playing Zelda breath of the wild instead of this rubbish. Top marks 😊😊😉👌

    1. Indeed, when developing this game the artists had Zelda all day in their mind, they could care less about his RE-SKIN game, it’s even boring for a dev.

    1. grow up, this is an Nintendo site, no need for violence here, this low life factory worker mentality is something for the PS4 folks

      1. Hey. I reserve the right to kick things made out of wood in my video games.

If you can play as a female assassin and choose contextually awkward dialogue options to flirt and seduce older Greek women… Then I should totally be able to kick something made out of wood.

  6. Ubisoft often seems like an slightly EA-ish concern who’s just aboiut throwing out game after game after game no matter if the quality lacks. At least they went through this progression for a couple of years but charming details like this or endeavors like Mario x Rabbids show that they haven’t lost their hearts. And no it’s not mandatory to be nice with Nintendo to don’t lose your heart, but including an easter egg for a game that doesn’t even launch on a Nintendo console shows honest love, not just some fanservice for customers of that targetsystem.
