Capcom has mention in its latest financial results that its latest Mega Man titles have performed well at retail. The company also says that Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection has performed as they anticipated. Capcom seems to be doing well these days as they have recently released the Resident Evil 2 remake and have Devil May Cry 5 coming out soon.

This quarter, Monster Hunter: World, which caused a sensation in the market in the previous fiscal year, continued to drive results after surpassing 10 million units shipped—a first for any single title in Capcom’s history. Also in the core Digital Contents business, in addition to titles such as Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection and Mega Man 11 performing well, high-margin catalog titles showed healthy sales growth. As a result, continuing from second quarter results, Capcom achieved the highest profit levels for the end of a third quarter in company history.

In addition, Mega Man 11 (for PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One and PC) and Red Dead Redemption 2 (for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One), a distribution title, reported strong sales, while sales of Onimusha, (for PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch and Xbox One), which was released at the end of 2018, were also off to a good start.

Furthermore, Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection (for PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One and PC) performed strongly, while Mega Man X Legacy Collection, Mega Man X Legacy Collection 2 and Mega Man X Legacy Collection 1+2 (for PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One and PC for all three titles) performed well thanks to a dedicated fan base and strong brand capabilities. In addition, high-margin catalog titles steadily increased sales and contributed to improving profitability.

  1. I wonder if Capcom is slowly making the correlation between, making a good game and sales numbers?
Though it doesn’t matter, when these games are not making all of the money, and bad game with microtransactions etc. generates more revenue than a good stroy driven single player game.

  2. Mega man 11 is absolutely one enjoyable game. The problem is that this timeless classic action-platform game receives the same treatment as indie games with almost the same price and have limitless replay value. The game is begging Capcom to upgrade it more to level with a premium Nintendo platformer. Plus, the millennials aren’t well acquainted with this retro game. And it looks like the series can’t become the gem it used to be in the past relying only with the games. For now, it might be doing well in the market. But for how long?

    1. You’re one of those people that don’t know what a millennial aren’t you? I’m one, 32, and started out playing Megaman 2 on the actual NES.

    2. your understanding of mega man 11 is quite poor if that’s how you feel. a classic mega man game is not going to be priced at the same thing as super smash bros in this day and age because it is simply too short.

  3. Would like to know when the HD resident evils that were announced last year are coming out? Would’ve thought it would be soon, I’m assuming they’ll be digital only too.

  4. Good. 11 is fantastic. Just makes me want more. Let’s get X9 and MM12.
    Remake Legends 1 & 2. Finally do 3.

Capcom is finally shaping back into the great company it used to be. The RE2 remake is fantastic.

  5. Time for Mega Man Legends 1&2 remakes then. And, of course, Mega Man Legends 3 (including the Prototype demo).
Just don’t make the physical release force you to download the second game.
