Video: IGN Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Rescue Team DX gameplay

In just a few weeks, Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Rescue Team DX, a remake of the 2005 handheld games Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Blue Rescue Team and Red Rescue Team, will be releasing on the Nintendo Switch. So, IGN has uploaded a new video that explains some of the remake’s features, and it also has some new gameplay. If you want to see the video for yourself, we’ve included it for you down below.

    1. Yeah early game probably doesn’t do it any justice.
The appeal (to me at least) comes from having a customizable rescue team and going into dungeons which are essentially challenges of resource management.
The early game dungeons are way too short to get a feel for that but once you gain access to large dungeons with 50-99 floors (which is sadly pretty much only in post game) the game really starts to hit its stride.

Other appeals like the story, which was incredibly emotional when I was a child is perfectly serviceable nowadays. The team working on the PMD games actually try to create a narrative (which is more than we can say for Game Freak).

If this one doesn’t strike your fancy I would suggest checking out its sequel Explorers of Sky, which pretty much overhauls everything.
