Yooka-Replaylee on Nintendo Switch 2 gets Performance Mode but visuals take a hit

PlayTonic has finally done it and have gotten Yooka-Replaylee running at 60fps on Nintendo Switch 2, but only when you play the game in the newly added Performance Mode in settings. There’s now Fidelity Mode which is basically like playing the original Nintendo Switch 2 version and the newly added Performance Mode which whacks the framerate to 60fps, but the visuals take a hit to compensate for the higher framerate. The game doesn’t appear to use DLSS to enhance the visual quality.

  1. Now people will complain why the game isn’t running at 666fps at 6767p cuz MuH fRaMeS aNd ReSoLuTiOn.

  2. No no, so the resolution will be lower!? If it looks like S1 resolution on a big tv screen and the S2 screen then it’s a bummer. It should be possible to keep high resolution like Nintendos first party games (DK Bananza, Mario Kart World and so on).

Maybe I will still pass as I already played the original.

  3. Sloppy work, as my husband says… it’s not as if this game required a lot of things to be able to run…

  4. I lost interest in this series the moment I learned the devs bend the knee for political correctness. Glad I never brought a game in the yooka laylee franchise. I was crying like an anime fan on prom night when they removed Jontron as a voice actor.

  5. I just tried the demo and it’s sad the new performance mode is not there. I can feel immediately that 30fps is too laggy for this game. I am not enjoying the gameplay enough. Would be nice to see the resolution downgrade in performance mode with buying the whole game. I think I will skip the full game for now and maybe come back later if it goes on 50+% sale. I got too many other great unbeaten games for now.
