Nintendo‘s NES & SNES Switch Online collections aren’t being updated very often, but that doesn’t mean that Nintendo has completely moved on from them. Every now and then, usually every couple of months, there’s an update that adds another small handful of games to the collections.
A couple of months have since passed, and so, Nintendo has decided to announce that 4 more titles are coming to the NES & SNES Nintendo Switch Online collections on February 17th. The SNES collection is getting Doomsday Warrior, Psycho Dream, and Prehistorik Man, and the NES collection is getting Fire ‘n Ice. The announcement tweet is down below.
Super NES
- Psycho Dream – When Sayaka doesn’t return to reality after entering an immersive virtual world known as a D-Movie, the protagonists, Ryo and Maria, must progress through a terrifying fantasy game called Legend of the Fallen Capital to rescue her and bring her back to reality.
- DOOMSDAY WARRIOR – It’s the Doomsday Warrior versus the Doom Squad! This action game features an evil sorcerer who has recruited seven warriors to take over Earth. But one of the Doom Squad has resisted the influence and now stands against the rest as the Doomsday Warrior!
- Prehistorik Man – Sam the caveman’s quest to save his village begins! Sam lives in a village whose food is stolen by dinosaurs. To get more, Sam must collect bones, which he can then use to buy food. On his way, he’ll need to make use of a variety of weapons, vehicles and attacks, including shouting, to attack all on-screen foes. Can Sam reach the dinosaur graveyard and collect enough bones?
NES
- Fire ’n Ice– As Dana, you have been chosen by the Queen of the Winter Fairies to bear the power of ice magic. With it, you must defend your home, Coolmint Island, from the wicked wizard Druidle and his flames!
It’s that time again, kids: More obscure NES and SNES titles coming to taint your Nintendo online subscription.

lol. Fire N’ Ice is a $200 game That has virtually never been rereleased. Just because you personally don’t know these games doesn’t mean you aren’t getting value.

Taint? People would kill for these obscure “gems”. Not me though, no sir.

Prehistorik Man!! To be honest I did not think this game would make it into the library. Looking forward to playing though that again!

What happened to all the Squaresoft games that the Wii VC had?

Literal garbage again

Prehistorik Man seems interesting, and since I’m constantly seeing bits and pieces of The Croods 2 thanks to work, maybe I’m in the mood for such a setting?
Everything else looks mediocre, especially that fighting game one, Doomsday Warrior. What the hell is Fire n’ Ice?
And where are the real heavy hitters, the real games that would actually make it more meaningful to get people on board for NSO? Where’s Chrono Trigger? Earthbound? Super Castlevania IV?

For all the people unaware, Fire n’ Ice is the extremely rare and valable sequel to Solomon’s Key. Go ahead and look it up on ebay.

It’s a $200 game because of physical scarcity, not because of the quality of the title.
It has little value being part of the Switch Online subscription other than “Here, play this mediocre game you can’t find or afford.”

I bought it on the eshop when the ACA version came out there. It’s a great game!

More obscure games I don’t know, too bad. There’s so many SNES classics out there still waiting to be released, so it’s always such a bummer when new games are finally added and it’s just four more games I don’t know.

Well I don’t use the online game service much. Maybe I’ll try out some of these games just to experience some history. I’ve never heard of any of them lol

Psycho dream is also pricey for a physical copy but it’s a pretty good game. It’s a bit short but that’s fine.

We wont be getting Contra on the online service as Konami released a collection for it and for Castlevania. As for Killer Instinct that is a RARE IP so I don’t see it happening. As for the others, I can’t say but who knows.
