The Nintendo Switch firmware has been updated to version 12.0.0

Another Nintendo Switch firmware update has been due from Nintendo for a little while now. There hasn’t been one since December, and it had been just a small one that fixed a few bugs. Well, the wait for an update to be released is over.

Nintendo has released version 12.0.0 of the Nintendo Switch firmware. However, you may be surprised to hear that, despite the version number change, The update is even smaller than the version 11.0.1 update that released in December. All Nintendo says in the official patch notes is that they “fixed the issue with the save data backup feature, where in rare cases, the automatic backup of save data is interrupted if a communication error occurs during completion of the save data backup process”.

  1. I pray to master Iblis that the 2022 Arceus is not clickbait. I want it almost like I used an action replay on diamond a while ago.

  2. I can imagine that this contains some changes under the hood that they can’t mention in the update notes, because they’re for some undisclosed future announcement. Like a new Switch model or whatever.

  3. It’s an update which will allow all save data and games to transfer to the new switch when it arrives late NOV. ( just in time for Christmas) ace!
