The latest UK video game software charts have come through and Nintendo’s recently released Miitopia for the Nintendo Switch has gotten off to a great start entering the charts at No.2. There are six Nintendo Switch games in the top ten this week which just goes to show how successful Nintendo has been at penetrating the UK video game market with the Switch system. Here’s this week’s top ten all formats chart:
Last Week | This Week | Title |
---|---|---|
2 | 1 | Resident Evil Village |
– | 2 | Miitopia |
1 | 3 | Mass Effect: Legendary Edition |
3 | 4 | Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales |
6 | 5 | Animal Crossing: New Horizons |
9 | 6 | Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury |
11 | 7 | Grand Theft Auto V |
8 | 8 | Mario Kart 8 Deluxe |
7 | 9 | Minecraft (Switch) |
10 | 10 | New Pokémon Snap |
That’s kind of disappointing, for such an overpriced port of an initially fun but generally mediocre jrpg, exclusive or not. It is good to see Nintendo getting another RPG out there in it’s own staple that maybe it can do more with in the future, but Miitopia much like Skyward Sword has the cheap cashgrab feel.
