Super Smash Bros. Ultimate has been updated to version 13.0.0

Almost a couple of weeks ago, Nintendo announced that Sora from Kingdom Hearts would be the final DLC character coming to Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, and it would be released on October 18th. They also confirmed that a new update for the game would be releasing simultaneously with the launch of the DLC.

Well, as promised, Nintendo has released the DLC, as well as the new update. When you update the game, you should be at version 13.0.0. 1. No Disney character in sight. Keeping it strictly to the characters that were made for the game series. Provided nothing Disney is part of his moveset or Final Smash, the “video game only” characters rule is still intact.

      1. Unfortunately, somewhere out there, some idiot was most likely freaking out that Sora’s inclusion opened the door for Mickey & other “4th” party characters. There’s always at least one.

        1. True. Sora’s inclusion opened up a whole lot of annoying “Disney and other cartoon character requests” (more then usual anyway). Which is why I hope Nintendo will always stick to the rule of ‘VG-only characters’ in future SSB games.

        2. Lmao yeah I searched for his comment on the post as soon as Sora was announced. His comment sure didn’t age well XD. To begin with he made no sense with the “Disney characters like mickey” have to be included otherwise it’s not a representation. Ummm, literally look at Super Smash Flash, the only disney representation is his final smash. and that’s it. Keyblades alone represent Kingdom Hearts and Disney because it’s kinda their main thing. You always have that one person who freaks out and goes to the extreme to try and prove a misguided point lol.

          1. Uh Uh. It’s Gob from the post on the most requested fighters (https://mynintendonews.com/2020/02/29/japan-sora-is-currently-the-most-wanted-smash-bros-ultimate-fighter-in-poll/).

            This was his comment:

“You cant have sora and kh without the Disney aspects just like u cant have pokemon with just the human characters and no monsters. If u add just sora then you are not representing the series, just a “cool” character you want to play as, not unlike goku. If u do add the Disney stuff, then smash no longer maintains its status as a celebration of video game icons only and u are opening the flood gates that more non game media characters get added. Only way sora would make sense is a super robot wars original generation style reboot of the entire series with just the square made characters, at which point it’s not even kh anymore.

So u either get sora added as a watered down rep of the actual series he reps or u open the dilution of the series integrity by introducing non game media characters. I don’t know how people don’t get this or they just don’t care and just want smash to be anyone and everyone in media added like its mugen or something.”

This whole comment makes no sense lol.

            1. Hold the phone, I responded to this comment back in February in 2020 and…I agreed with it? What the heck was I thinking?

          2. I’m referring to people in general. Human IQ has taken a nosedive since 2016. Apparently around the time that horrendous Ghostbusters movie was on the cusp of hitting theaters. Coincidence? Maybe. Lol

  2. What an era of gaming history. Don’t really care about Sora myself but I know this made a lot of fans happy.

  3. Welp… I’m done with it. Bittersweet ending to SSBU. So many characters… not enough modes… bad online.

    Cheers, Sakurai

  4. It’s going to feel weird not having any newcomer trailers anymore. Sure there was a 27 month gap between Smash 4’s last trailer and Ultimate’s announcement, but it didn’t feel like it. I wonder if the series is going to go on hiatus, if the next installment will be Ultimate Deluxe, or what?
