Nintendo has shared an accolades trailer for the indie action-adventure RPG Eastward from developer Pixpil and publisher Chucklefish. The game has received quite favorable reviews since launch, earning itself a 78/100 on Metacritic. Eastward is available now for Nintendo Switch as a console exclusive, and is 10% off on the Nintendo eShop in Europe until 30th December.

  1. I don’t recommend this game. It’s beautiful and the music is great but it has some serious identity issues. It doesn’t know if it wants to be Zelda, Earthbound, or Mario&Luigi.

    And unless they’ve updated it, you can’t backtrack if you missed items so… that kinda sucks if you’re a completionist.

    Again… gorgeous game, great music… but gameplay is very hit and miss, the story pacing is off and it’s more confusing than quirky.

  2. I would sure love to support an indie company who doesn’t exploit teenagers and young adults into creating content while going unpaid. Sadly, that’s not Chucklefish… and, more particularly, nor is it the highly manipulative founder, Finn Brice.
