GungHo Online Entertainment has announced the airing schedule and release platform of the upcoming anime series based on their hit free-to-play online multiplayer action game Ninjala. A new episode will air every Thursday at 7:00 PM (PST) via the PlayNinjala YouTube channel, with the series premiere set for this week, 13th January 2022. Unfortunately, you will only have 7 days to watch each episode, as the previous episode will be promptly unavailable as soon as a new one arrives. It’s unknown if there will be future methods of watching the series, at least for free.

Ninjala is available now via the Nintendo Switch eShop, with over 8 million downloads worldwide. Check out a plot summary of the anime adaptation below, and make sure to tune in.

“The Ninjala anime series featuring the eight main characters in the game (Burton, Berecca, Ron, Van, Emma, Jane, Kappei, and Lucy), as well as Gumchi, is starting!”

“Ninja-Gum, a substance known to strengthen the power of the Shinobi that dwells within and draw it out…
Burton, Berecca, and Ron, three researchers at the World Ninja Association, or WNA, take it on themselves to develop it in secret. Unfortunately, they have only managed to produce failure after failure.
But after three whole years of experimentation, they finally succeed in producing Ninja-Gum!
“Ninjala”, the extreme ninja battle tournament that uses Ninja-Gum is held in order to find the strongest Shinobi, but incidents and conspiracies involving Ninja-Gum and the existence of unknown beings take place behind the scenes…”

  1. Seeing this makes me really want an anime of Splatoon. One can only hope Nintendo takes notes but I wouldn’t hold my breath.

Anyhow, I hope this Ninjala anime does well.

  2. They actually had an anime airing but it kinda just cut off, this style seems alot different than one that was on their channel so it’s probably it’s own thing.

    1. You mean these episodes right?

I remember those as well, I got the impression that they were meant to serve as prolouge (and also backstories for the kids) for the game’s story. I agree that this new anime seems to be its own thing, loosely following the game story.
