Genshin Impact PR team says Switch version hasn’t been canceled

free-to-play RPG Genshin Impact

The gorgeous free-to-play game Genshin Impact has seen incurable success on PlayStation consoles, PC and mobile devices, and was announced as coming to the Nintendo Switch back in 2020. Since then we haven’t really heard much about a Nintendo Switch version, apart from the fact that the developers had been struggling with the game due to the Switch hardware. When reached out to, the company’s PR team stated that the game is still coming that they will share more information once development progresses. It is hard to fathom how well Genshin Impact would run on the current Switch hardware, though as far as miHoYo PR team are concerned, it is still coming to Nintendo Switch.

“The Switch version is still in development, and we will release more information as we progress further along.”

  1. I play this game just about every day and I’d be glad to add it to my Switch collection. I can understand, though. PS4 version is rough as it is and even Genshin mobile requirements is technically above the Switch. Sounds like they plan to make it work somehow, though.

  2. Well I don’t play this game for the most part but I do like the characters in the game in Genshin Impact. However, I still have no plans on playing this game but I might give it a shot and try it out.

  3. I’ll believe it when I see it.

Personal guess? I think we won’t see Genshin Impact on a Nintendo console until the Switch’s inevitable successor arrives.

  4. You are welcome Sickr! :)

I tried the game on PS4 some time ago. In terms of gameplay, and without all the gacha stuff in consideration, GI is alright but in the long run I got quite bored with it. Glad for everyone who still enjoy it though.
