The Mega Man franchise has now sold over 38,000,000 units

For decades, Mega Man has been saving the world from the evil schemes of Dr. Wily. In the meantime, Capcom has introduced fans to Mega Man X and much more. A lot of these games have arrived on current generation consoles in the form of Legacy Collections, with Mega Man Battle Network Legacy Collection coming next year.

These collections have been a success for Capcom. In fact, the Mega Man series as a whole has been doing very well. The company recently posted their financial results for the first quarter of the 2022 fiscal year, where they announced that the Mega Man franchise has now sold over 38,000,000 units.

  1. Trying to decide who is doing worse with their mascot character: Sega or Capcom. I’d strongly argue it’s Sega because of all the crappy/well disliked games they’ve made over the last nearly 2 decades. Least when Capcom DOES make a Mega Man game, it’s not crap or well disliked.

  3. Determining whether Sega or Capcom has done a worse job with their mascot figure. Since Sega has released a lot of poorly received video games over the past 19 years, At least the few times Capcom actually makes a Mega Man game, they aren’t terrible or universally hated.
