The long-awaited next entry in the Detective Pikachu series is apparently nearing release according to a developer working on the game. The news was discovered via Creatures Inc Development Division Senior Programmer, Jonathan Murphy’s, Linked-In page. Detective Pikachu 2 was first announced in 2019 by The Pokemon Company and we have heard nothing of the game since. The original Detective Pikachu game was released on the Nintendo 3DS system back in February 2016.
