Super Mario Movie McDonald’s leak seemingly reveals Mario’s movie render

A McDonald’s employee may have revealed Mario’s render in the Super Mario Bros Movie due to promotion the company plans to run in collaboration with Nintendo. The image shared on a Discord channel lines up with the back shot of the Italian plumber which was included in the tweet yesterday from Nintendo of America announcing the Super Mario Bros Movie-themed Nintendo Direct which is tomorrow at 1.05pm PT / 9.05pm UK time. We should know for certain tomorrow during the presentation.

  1. Does his face look… pudgier than usual? Something about his mouth seems off as well. I feel like it looks closer to Mr. EAD’s face, a character whose appearance is already based on Mario’s.

  2. I like how it still looks and makes Mario recognizable, honestly thought he would be getting face lift glad to see he stays on model by his original reference really wanna see how peach looks, also I feel like it’s no brainer that we would receive leaks before the trailer got as the same happen with the sonic movie.

  3. I was afraid this would happen, but no…………..

Anytime I bring it up, no one replies and I get completely ghosted. Not one discussion on the possibilities of Mario not looking like Mario (and that goes for the rest of the cast).

I guess it could be worse, but then there’s the fact that Chris Pratt is doing a performance that’s anything but faithful to Martinet’s Mario. Will he even be Italian?

  4. It doesn’t look terrible to me. I think they are trying to make him very much more almost like his game counterpart to make him a little bit more notice like E CAD face.

  5. I’ve seen some others say that his pudgy face makes him look more like his older cartoon designs, and going off that angle I can say that yeah I guess that’s kinda true. Cartoon Mario doesn’t look like the standard Mario we get nowadays, but I’ve never seen that as a bad thing. So maybe he’s not “uncanny valley” like I initially thought this morning. I’ll give it a shot and wait until we see it in motion later this week

  6. first it was chris pratt voicing mario, now it’s the horrible design. I hope this gets a major facelift just the same way Sonic got his.

  7. Having just seen the teaser trailer I find the visuals fine, the voices however…meh, it will take some time to get used to but they are as average as I expected.
