Nintendo is continuously trying to expand its subscriber base for the more expensive Nintendo Switch Online membership tier Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack. Today, the company has outlined three new perks for members of the service in Japan. Firstly subscribers will be able to twice the number of Gold Points on all purchases through the Nintendo Switch eShop. Secondly, fans will get Nintendo 64 themed membership icons which they can use for their Switch profile, and thirdly they will be able to purchase special Nintendo 64-themed merchandise. Those double gold coins sound awesome considering i do purchase digital games, mostly those that are digital only. Hope this makes it to the west.
That all sounds legit, i wish Sony would give some insensitive besides taking away features. Before PlayStation Plus was required it included exclusive themes and avatars now that Plus is required they don’t have exclusive themes or avatars. They added PlayStation Stars that gives points for every digital purchase and added 2 new PlayStation Plus memberships Elite and Premium.
Only digital purchases? Nintendo gives gold coins even for physical purchases. The cool thing about the gold coins is that not only you can use the gold coins to lower the price of a game 100=$1,00 you can effectively trade gold coins for full games if you have enough, they are yours to keep even if you lose the NSO membership.
I’ve taken advantage of several “double points” offers in the past. Nintendo has used that tactic to boost preorder sales on several games on Switch, but why would I pay for NSO+E just to get that perk?!?!? If the N64 games didn’t get me and the free DLC didn’t get me, why would this?!?!?
The double coins is for every digital purchases not just selected with the expansion. I know right now it’s Japan but i kinda want the west to have this as well as it adds more value on top of the previous things already added.

Nah that stuff is just the same as NFT trash… trash. For $60 a year….. sheeple, just save that $60 go find a retro game shop, buy a N64 amd whatever games you like and never spend a cent more on games from 20+ years ago…. your welcome.
