Nintendo says it will monitor Switch price point as general costs soar

Most countries are struggling with finances after the COVID-19 pandemic and the general cost of living has soared in a lot of countries with companies hiking prices for essentials left right and centre. Nintendo is fully aware of this and were asked whether they would follow Sony in hiking up the price of the Nintendo Switch family of consoles. The Kyoto-based company said that they aren’t planning to at present, but that they will continue to monitor the pricing and they couldn’t rule out a future price hike. Sony increased the price of its PlayStation 5 console in most countries at the end of August, 2022, but excluded the United States were they are in a head to head battle with Microsoft’s Series X|S consoles.

  1. They better not increase it at some point. It’s 5 years old. It should have been cheaper by now. Like 100 bucks.
