GoldenEye 007 arrives on Friday with Switch Online + Expansion Pack

The iconic secret agent 007 will soon be entering the Nintendo 64 library on Nintendo Switch. Starting 27th January, GoldenEye 007 will be available for everyone with a Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack membership as part of the Nintendo 64 – Nintendo Switch Online library of games. 

Enter a world of espionage as Bond in GoldenEye 007. Your covert operation to stop the GoldenEye weapon satellite spans the globe – you’ll infiltrate underground bases, charge through a military train and slink around the depths of a jungle. Along the way, M will brief you on your objectives and Q Branch will support your efforts with an array of gadgets, but the ultimate success of this mission is yours alone. Save the day, then go for the gold in spy-vs-spy action locally** or online in the four-player multiplayer mode and enjoy round after round of first-person competitive action.

    1. Split screen. Remember this is on the N64 app, so it’s just emulation, it works (hopefully)exactly as it does on original hardware.

    2. I assume if its just you playing, you will have the entire screen. I doubt they would show you other peoples screens lol

  1. I’ve never seen any game with split screen online, maybe for couch co-op but not for competitive Pvp. Then again i hardly play anything online, but still split screen online competitive Pvp just sounds like a bad idea.

    1. It’s because the online is emulating controllers instead of actually editing the base game to have actual online, you’re basically connecting through the app and not the game itself. I wish they would do more work to get rid of the split screen because it’s harder to play on it.

  2. Some people in this comment section are really exposing their own lack of understanding on how emulation works lmao. As much as it sucks to be the case, that split screen is the best we’re gonna get. This isn’t a remaster or even a port of the game; it’s just emulation of the rom from the cartridge
