Neatly tucked away in Nintendo’s recent press release is a little nugget of information which will surely please Mario Kart 8 Deluxe owners. Yesterday we found out that Birdo, who first appeared in the GameCube Mario Kart game, Mario Kart: Double Dash, will be arriving in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe as part of Booster Course Pass Wave Four, which is due out this spring. Birdo is the first new character to be introduced in the Booster Course Pass and it turns out that she won’t be the last. The official press release mentions that “returning characters from the Mario Kart series will be added in future waves.” The Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Booster Course Pass is available now as part of the Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack subscription or you can purchase it separately via the Nintendo eShop.

Birdo inclusion honestly was the hint tbh and considering mkt already has the character models importing that stuff would be easy, I’m surprise they never did it for the past waves.
I’m surprise they didn’t. Not only that, they should have did this earlier in the game for the Nintendo Switch. I’m assuming Diddy Kong, Queen Bee and of course Funky Kong will return in one of the waves honestly. Mostly I want Diddy Kong and Funky Kong back in Mario Kart series.
Man, imagine how awesome it would be if they added a character to all past waves!
I think that might be the case as each wave added something brand new, remember last wave gave us item toggle I wouldn’t be surprised if we got something super crazy for the next wave after this.

I knew there would be more! You can’t just have Birdo (or any one character for that matter) be the only new inclusion. What I want to know is: why did it take so long?
